Lemming also saw Carter play three times last season and predicts that the 6-3, 235-pounder will be a national recruit as a defensive end. ''His motor is always going. He seemed to get better with each game,'' he said.

Loyola coach John Holecek, who played for seven years in the NFL, said Carter is being recruited by Illinois, Notre Dame and Northwestern. Very athletic, he also plays basketball and figures to weigh 245-250 next fall.

''Potentially, he is as good as any player I have coached,'' Holecek said. ''He is very active. He loves to play the game. He needs to work on his explosiveness and strength. But he is smart, has a big frame, big legs, long arms and huge feet. He is going to put on more weight and muscle."

From the ND site...talked to Coach Ianello and was offered a scholarship by the Irish and was told he will be the focal point of their 2010 recruiting. His coach (an Illinois alum) is pushing for him to pledge early to ND but he says he will at least wait to see who offers on 9/1/08.

From the ND site. Carter again states that even though his coach wants him to verbal to Notre Dame now, he will take his time and see who else offers. Notre Dame is his clear leader, and he talks about how much he likes the campus, coaches and tradition.

Academy junior defensive end Chance Carter is one of the top prospects in the class of 2010 and he picked up his second offer recently, when Stanford joined Notre Dame as schools who have offered the 6'4, 235-lber. Carter, who is an outstanding student, also has interest from Northwestern, Illinois, Arizona State, Georgia, Alabama and Wisconsin.
