Deron Wilson, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound senior cornerback at O. Perry Walker, has committed to play for the University of Southern Mississippi.

Wilson, who had five interceptions for the Chargers last year, said he chose Southern Mississippi over an offer from Kansas State because he liked the coaching staff and wanted to stay close to home.
