From the GT site. Ricky now holds offers from Texas A&M, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tulsa, Arkansas, Southern Miss and Georgia Tech. He wants to play WR at the next level. Arkansas, LSU and Georgia Tech are his top three, and he hopes to make his choice before his senior season.

"I like that LSU is right in my backyard (30 minutes away) and they are a real good team," Ricky Johnson said. "They were supposed to offer me, but said they want to see me some more at wide receiver. I'm going to their camp next week (July 19-23) and if I do well I think they'll offer." The Tigers are also Johnson's childhood favorite and he admits that an LSU offer would be hard to resist.

"I don't plan on waiting for LSU," Ricky Johnson said. "I think they are waiting to see what some other receivers do before they offer me." Johnson now names Arkansas and Georgia Tech as his leaders even though he hasn't actually visited either campus. "I'm going to visit both of them over Labor Day weekend. I'd like to make my decision in early September, so it'll be after I visit those..."

Arkansas gained another football commitment Tuesday when Louisiana athlete Ricky Johnson of Lafayette Carencro said he wanted to be a Razorback.

Johnson 6-1, 190 pounds, 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash, had nine scholarship offers, including offers from Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Texas A&M. He and his parents traveled to Fayetteville on Saturday for the Western Illinois game on an unofficial visit.

"When I went up there, I liked all of the facilities and I talked to all of the coaches and they seem real nice," Johnson said." [My parents] liked everything about it."
