The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Booker T. Washington cornerback Branden Smith, who is ranked as the state's No. 1 prospect by numerous recruiting publications, said Tuesday night that he has canceled his official visit to Clemson.
Smith said he has replaced Clemson with Florida State on his list of five visits, and will make a recruiting trip to watch the Seminoles play Florida on Nov. 29.
Smith made his first official visit to Florida last weekend, and has trips planned for Tennessee on Oct. 25, Auburn on Nov. 15, and Georgia (undetermined).

Smith Makes Visit To Tennessee
By Phil Kornblut
DB Branden Smith (5-11 165) of Atlanta made an official visit to Tennessee over the weekend and said the visit went very well. He's also taken an official visit to Florida and has set dates with Auburn, Florida State and Georgia. Clemson was a major player with Smith before the coaching change but he's dropped the Tigers from his visit plans for now. "I'm still open," Smith said. "I haven't chosen my top five. Coach Rumph (Clemson recruiter) called me today (Sunday) but I missed his call. He is still recruiting me." Smith said he doesn't have a favorite.

Branden Smith continues to chop list
Under Armour All-American athlete Branden Smith has removed Auburn from consideration, according to ESPN affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com.
He previously eliminated Clemson and Tennessee from consideration after those coaching changes.
Smith said, "Auburn has coaching problems. They've already fired their offensive coordinator, and now I'm hearing rumors that their head coach is on the hot seat. I really don't want to go through all that. It seems like at any time (Tuberville) could get fired or resign."
He visited Florida on Oct. 11th, has scheduled a date with Alabama for Nov. 15th and is slated the check out Florida State on Nov. 29th.
