Defensive end Telvin Smith told ESPN affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com, "Florida State and Georgia Tech are still my top two. As for a decision, if it were up to me I would decide later, but I was talking to my mom and she wants me to make my decision before the school year, so I can have all my classes straight and stuff."
LSU is Smith's latest offer, bringing his total up to nine. Last fall, he registered 97 tackles and 16 tackles for loss.
Outside linebacker / defensive end prospect Telvin Smith has the Seminoles on top for his signature, ESPN affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com reports.
"I did almost (commit)," Smith then said after he attended the 'Noles annual spring game. "I'm just going to sit back and see what happens. Florida State is definitely my No. 1 right now. I really like FSU because of the coaching staff. They are relaxed and they get on a personal level with you. Not only are they good coaches, but they get on a personal level with you."
Other top programs such as Georgia, Georgia Tech and LSU are also in the mix for Smith, who plans to make his decision later this summer before the start of his senior year.
