Tampa Catholic quarterback Christian Green, arguably one of the state's top juniors, has received scholarship offers from Florida State and Michigan, TC coach Bob Henriquez told the Times today.
"Everyone around here knew his capabilities," Henriquez said. "The good part of it is, his attitude was, 'Now, I've got to work.' If anything, I think this will motivate him a little more. He's such a humble kid."
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Green helped lead TC to the 2007 Class 2A state final, where the Crusaders lost to Madison County 28-7 in Orlando. Green, who passed for more than 1,500 yards as a sophomore, could play a variety of positions in college, but most project him as either a quarterback or wide receiver.
"Within the Michigan offense, he could be a quarterback," Henriquez said. "And frankly, FSU is going more and more to the athletic quarterback."
USF is among the other programs that are actively recruiting Green.

ESPN - Midwest Recruiting Blog
Quote:
It has been a tough season for first year Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez. The Wolverines are 2-7 and probably won't be favored to win any of their final three games.
Much has been said and written about Rodriguez not having the right quarterback to fit his system. Rodriguez has landed two Class of 2009 quarterback commitments to fit his spread offense, but he is also looking even further down the road and has offered a scholarship to an outstanding junior quarterback from Florida.
Christian Green (Tampa/Catholic) is one of the top athletes in the Sunshine State. He has been a starter since his freshman season when he played wide receiver and caught 10 touchdown passes. Green moved to quarterback his sophomore year and threw for 23 scores. This season, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Green has led his team to a 6-2 record.
He has scholarship offers from Michigan, Florida, Florida State, South Florida and Louisville.
"Some schools are looking at me as an 'athlete,'" Green said. "Some say quarterback. Michigan has said quarterback."
The Wolverines have a legitimate shot at landing Green. He says Florida State and Michigan sit at the top of his list with Florida the other school he is very interested in.
"I'll probably get up to Michigan for a visit sometime after the (football) season," Green said.

Christian Green - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN
Quote:
Athlete Christian Green told ESPN affiliate Web site GatorCountry.com, "Every time I go up (to Gainesville) I always enjoy it and learn something new. I definitely learned something new this time and got to talk to some of the players and stuff like that."
"Right now, Florida's still on top. I've got to go around to a couple more camps and then I'll make my decision by the end of the summer."
GatorCountry lists Florida State, where Green has family ties, as Florida's toughest competition for his commitment. Georgia could also be in the mix.
He previously told GatorCountry that Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, South Florida, USC and Michigan stood out.
