Lattimore playing significant minutes as a freshman for Byrnes says volumes about his ability. Runs extremely hard and is deceptively strong considering his youth. Has great size and should continue to grow. Will be the feature back for the next three seasons more than likely and eventually will be one of the top running backs in his class.

From the South Carolina site. Lattimore took another trip to South Carolina this weekend, and had another good visit. He talks about his comfort level at SC, and says Georgia is showing a lot of interest. South Carolina and Georgia are his early leaders.

Rising junior RB Marcus Lattimore (5-11 210) of Byrnes will make an unofficial visit to Clemson Friday. Lattimore visited Clemson earlier in the spring. He's also made visits to USC and Georgia, and the two SEC schools remain his top two going into the Clemson visit. Lattimore is regarded by some as one of the nation's top prospects for the 2010 class. As a sophomore he rushed for 1884 yards and 26 touchdowns and caught 41 passes for 441 yards and four touchdowns. Lattimore has offers from USC, Clemson, Georgia, Florida State and Kansas.

Sophomore RB Marcus Lattimore (6-0 200) of Byrnes has done another about face regarding his college favorite. First, it was USC. Then, after visiting Clemson, it was the Tigers. Now, after giving it further thought, Lattimore says the Gamecocks are now his favorite. "Clemson's not my leader,"Lattimore told TheBigSpur.com in a recent interview. "I had fun down there that one day, (but) I don't know what I was talking about with that Clemson stuff. I just got caught up in the moment. I like USC because I don't know that Clemson is telling the truth. I know Carolina is giving me 100 percent. They'll tell me how it is. When I've called and talked to coach Lawing before, he's told me that even if I don't commit (to USC), they'll still win ball games. I could tell it was real after that. I just know they're going to keep it real. I like Carolina, I've liked Carolina since I was young. I think Carolina (offers the best playing time situation). When I talked to them at the junior day, they told me I'm going to play as a freshman regardless. I might not start, but I'm going to play some. I mean, if I'm the better man, then I'm going to start." Lattimore's sister attends USC and he plans to spend several week in Columbia this summer. Lattimore said Florida State is now a major factor as well and he rates the Seminoles and Clemson as tied for second behind USC.

From the South Carolina site. Lattimore holds offers from South Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia and Kansas. Lattimore and his family took another trip to South Carolina this week and he came away very impressed. He is also very interested in Georgia and the tradition of RB's they have. He will decide at the '10 Army AA Game (which he has already been picked to play in).

Byrnes' Lattimore gets offer from LSU | Spartanburg, South Carolina | GoUpstate.com | Spartanburg Herald-Journal
Quote:
The Byrnes running back has a total of 13 offers with the most recent coming from LSU and Kentucky, he said Tuesday night.
He has 48 carries for 438 yards and six touchdowns in three games this season.
Lattimore had previously favored South Carolina but now says all schools are on an even keel.
“After the LSU offer, there are so many coming in that I’ve got to keep my options open,” he said. “Right now, I’m wide open.”
Lattimore attended South Carolina’s game against Georgia and will attend the Florida at Tennessee game on Saturday.
He said no official visits have been planned, though.
“I know for sure that South Carolina is getting an official visit,” Lattimore said. “I’m not sure about the other four yet.”
Lattimore also expects an offer from Alabama soon and plans on taking his time to make a decision.
“I think I’m going to wait it out the whole time,” he said. “I want to check out every college I’m interested in. If it is 1,000 miles away and I like that school, that’s where I’m going to go.”
