DB Rashard Hall (6-3 194) of St. Augustine, FL first decided he wanted to play safety and not receiver in college. Then he decided he wanted to play that position for Clemson. So, after talking Saturday with recruiter Dabo Swinney and defensive coordinator Vic Koenning, Hall called back Sunday afternoon and committed to Tiger head coach Tommy Bowden. "They just have the total package for me with the people, the academics, the playing time and the location," Hall said. "I just decided that's where I wanted to be. Their defensive is great, and with them having a big need for safeties and and a chance for early playing time, that put it over the top with me. And they've been wanting me and pushing for me for the past month or so." Hall said he also considered USC and Mississippi State where he was being recruited as a receiver and defensive back, but once he decided to be strictly a safety, he determined Clemson was the best fit. He is scheduled for his official visit to Clemson January 11th. This season Hall had 61 tackles and 8 intercepions returning two for touchdowns. He also had an 88 yard punt return for a touchdown. As a receiver he caught 58 passes for 800 yards and eight touchdowns. Clemson also is recruiting Hall's teammate, DB Carlton Lewis, whom Hall believes is down to the Tigers, USC and Wake Forest.
