Clemson Gains Receiver Commitment

WR Brandon Ford (6-4 207) of Hanahan committed Monday afternoon to Clemson. "They really liked me and Clemson is a great school and a great program," Ford said. "I want to be an engineer and I fit right in to their school football wise and academic wise. They are usually loaded with running backs but they don't really have a lot of receivers like South Carolina. They've got Jacoby Ford but he's a speed receiver, he's not like me size wise." Ford also had an offers from Georgia, SC State and Charleston Southern. He drew interest from USC, Tennessee, Virginia, NC State, Auburn, North Carolina and Maryland. Last season Ford had 63 catches for 650 yards and 6 touchdowns. "I can go up and get the ball in traffic," he said. "I catch all the ball I'm supposed to catch. I just watched Calvin Johnson play and learned from him."
