The Enquirer - NCH football player commits to UC

North College Hill junior running back/defensive back Everett Horne has orally committed to play football for the University of Cincinnati.

Horne, who is 5 feet 10 and 175 pounds, is the first reported area football player to make a college commitment from the 2009 class.

Horne rushed for 1,321 yards on 133 carries (9.9 ypc.) and 13 touchdowns this past season for the Trojans. He also had 16 receptions for 310 yards and two touchdowns.

On defense, Horne had 55 tackles and five intereceptions. On special teams, Horne had over 800 yards on returns, including six touchdowns.

“He is very excited about being able to play in the Big East in front of his family and friends,” NCH coach Bruce Baarendse said this afternoon.
