Scout.com: Caputo Has Options
1/26/10
By Bob Lichtenfels. PSU, Pitt, and Purdue have offered. Mike had talked with coach Tom Bradley previously, but the offer was still unexpected and ended up being his first....excited to receive it. Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt has been by the school and offered....Mike had hoped they'd offer and was very excited. Ohio State HC Jim Tressel is expected at the school, doesn't know if Ohio State will offer but hopes they do. Hearing from BC, Syracuse, and Wisconsin too.

Caputo getting offers
The question of whether West Allegheny football player Mike Caputo would be recruited much by Division I colleges has been answered.
Pitt, Penn State, Ohio State, Purdue, North Carolina State and Michigan have all offered scholarships to Caputo, a junior running back-defensive back who was the Post-Gazette Player of the Year. More offers will probably be coming in the future.
Colleges aren't saying what position Caputo will play.
"They all say the same thing -- that he's just a player," West Allegheny coach Bob Palko said. "I'm not sure he can't be a running back in college. Do I think that's where he'll play? I don't know.
"Penn State likes him maybe at one of their linebacker spots and Pitt maybe at one of their linebackers. I think teams like him on defense because he's such a good tackler, and that's a lost art nowadays."

Scout.com: Buckeyes Offer Caputo
2/9/10
By Bob Lichtenfels. Ohio State has offered and coach Tressel was by the school this past week.....Mike was really hoping both tOSU and Pitt would offer and they have. Thinks both NC State and MSU may be close to offering and says an early decision is unlikely, he wants to check out the campuses and academics while evaluating each school.

Caputo holds two offers and counting
2/17/10
By Chris Peak. Mike has two written scholarship offers, Pitt and tOSU, with PSU and BC considering offering....his coach tells him a lot of schools are considering offering and that the BC offer should come shortly....Purdue, NC State, Wisconsin, and MSU are contacting him a lot. Talks about Pitt and feels his recruitment will come down to Pitt, PSU, and tOSU.
