By Mike White, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
School: Laurel Highlands
Position:.....TE-DE
Height: 6-4
Weight: 250
The skinny: There is nothing skinny about Ramsey. He's well-built and can be dominant at either of his positions. He also is a talented basketball player, averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds as a junior. Ramsey did not participate in Laurel Highlands' first football scrimmage Saturday because he was resting his right shoulder. He had offseason surgery for a torn labrum. He plans to be at full-strength for the season opener next Friday.
College talk: Ramsey made a verbal commitment recently to Boston College. Pitt and Georgia Tech were his other two finalists.
Why Boston College? It's just a school of opportunity. It's the tops in academics, I love the campus and I'll have the opportunity to play big-time football in the ACC.
Favorite food: Pizza.
Person you'd most like to meet: My grandpap on my dad's side. He passed away when I was born.
Who is the best athlete in all of sports right now? Tiger Woods, because he knows how to win.
What's worse to practice, football or basketball? Definitely football because when you're sore, you just go hit some more. There's something about hitting another human being that makes your body ache. But it makes it all worthwhile Friday nights. That's when you forget about it all and have fun.
What is a word or saying that bothers you? 'Are you tired?' I'm pretty much laid back, and because I'm not a rah-rah guy, people think I don't care about the game or something. That kind of bothers me.
Could you name me five Pittsburgh Pirates? Ummm, no. I'm not a big fan of baseball, especially the Pirates.
People might be surprised to know that ... [i] have a 3.0 grade average.
