The Warrior senior spoke with Boston College coaches on Thursday night and gave a verbal commitment to attend the ACC school.
"I think it's a great decision," said Curtis coach Fred Olivieri. "He liked the idea of playing for Boston College. I think he's always in the back of his mind liked the idea of committing to BC.
"I'm 100 percent behind the decision."
It's the end of a long recruiting road for LeGrande, who received his first scholarship offer as a freshman, the same year he became Curtis' starting quarterback.
The offer came from Hofstra, where his older brother Shemiah, a star for the Warriors' 2002 PSAL championship team, was a freshman that same year.
Over the years, interest in LeGrande skyrocketed past that highly-regarded I-AA program. A visit to summer camp at Duke after his sophomore year brought another offer and by last spring all of the Northeast's major football programs -- BC, Rutgers, UConn and Syracuse -- were pursuing the versatile quarterback and defensive back.
In LeGrande's mind, the leader was Boston College, which made its scholarship offer official in May. But the 17-year-old from Port Richmond didn't want to rush into a decision.
"I'm definitely relieved to get it over with," said LeGrande. "It felt like BC all along, but I just wanted to be sure.
"I always liked BC. I thought it was a good move and the coaches thought it was a good move because it's not too close to home but not too far away."
After leading Curtis to the PSAL Bowl championship as a sophomore and to the PSAL City Championship game last season, LeGrande has put together a dominant senior season for the undefeated Warriors.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder has thrown for 16 touchdowns and run for 16 more, averaging 9.8 yards per carry. His range of skills has the BC staff still considering where to play him, although it likely won't be at quarterback.
"They've got me as an athlete," said LeGrande. "They said safety, cornerback, wide receiver. I don't really fit as a quarterback in their pro-style offense."
