There are two new offers for St. Xavier juniors - DE Patrick Muldoon and LB Luke Kuechly, according to St. X football coach Steve Specht.

Muldoon was offered by Notre Dame last week. Kuechly was recently offered by Wisconsin.

Luke Kuechly (Cincinnati/Saint Xavier) may not blow you away with size and speed measurables at a combine, but he is a very sound, well-rounded linebacker prospect who can sift through the wash or chase plays down sideline-to-sideline. Kuechly was very dominant versus good Ohio competition.

Luke Kuechly (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) has scholarship offers from every school in the Big Ten except Ohio State, but by the beginning of the football season, he decided to go in another direction. Kuechly felt that for the most part, schools in the Big Ten were bigger than what he was looking for.

Now he has gone a step further and trimmed his list down to four schools: Boston College, Virginia, Stanford and Duke. He made an official visit to Boston College the weekend of Sept. 6 when the Eagles played Georgia Tech. He will wait until his senior football season is over before taking any other trips.

"I'm working on setting up my other visits," Kuechly said. "I'll probably visit the other three."

When asked for a quick comment on what he likes about each school, Kuechly said, "I feel like Boston College is a lot like St. Xavier. The academics at Stanford speak for themselves and the campus is beautiful. I've never been to Virginia and Duke, but the coaches seem really nice."
