'09 FL QB Nico Flores

'09 FL QB Nico Flores

Pro-style quarterback
North Miami Beach (FL) North Miami Beach

Ht: 6-foot-2
Wt: 175 lbs
Forty: 4.7 secs
Class: 2009 (High School)

Talented NMB QB Flores looking at FIU, BC - 06/06/2008 - MiamiHerald.com

Quote:
Bertani said Boston College, Florida International, Central Florida, Minnesota and Western Michigan have offered Flores scholarships. Flores has a 2.8 core GPA going into his senior season and has already scored an 18 on his ACT.

''Doug is dying for me to join him up [at Western Michigan],'' Flores said. ``But I'm not going to rush any decision. I might not even take my trips until after the season.''
Quote:
Flores completed 92 of 188 passes for 1,571 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions as he kept the Chargers' tradition of prolific quarterbacks alive.

Flores also ran 35 times for 121 yards and three touchdowns to lead NMB to a 12-1 record and a berth in the Region 3-4A final where a one-point loss to Deerfield Beach prevented what would have been a state semifinal clash with Northwestern for the second consecutive year.

''I think he can play in any system,'' Bertani said. ``Sometimes, you get quarterbacks that fit only one offense or another. The way we play Nico, his adaptability to any situation is the key.

``He's earned the freedom to check out of plays and call his own if he notices something that he thinks will work better against a defense.''

Although he hasn't gone to any camps, Flores has run a 4.7 in the 40-yard dash. Flores also plays defensive back, but unlike former quarterback E.J. Biggers and Wiggins, who played several positions on offense and defense, Flores is more of a pure quarterback.

By M Bakas. Flores favors Boston College, Miss. State, UCF, FIU (all offered), and USF (no offer). He also says that Penn State has been picking up their interest as of late. Nico will look for a school that can offer good academics, good coaching, and a good atmosphere.

From the UCF site. Flores says that UCF is his clear leader right now, and that they offer him everything he is looking for in a school.
