Has committed to Michigan and cites Coach Hopson as a big reason why he chose the Wolverines.

From the Michigan site. Jones says the reason his mother didn't know about the verbal right away is because he was on a visit at LSU when he made his choice. He likes the winning tradition at Michigan and has family in Detroit.

From the UM site. DeQuinta recently talked to the Michigan coaches, who stressed how much they want him. He recently took visits to Arkansas and Auburn and hinted that staying close to home may be a factor. he says that all the schools are even, and he will have a tough choice to make.

Rueben visits LSU; D.D. takes trip to Michigan - Bastrop, LA - Bastrop Daily Enterprise

Quote:
Bastrop defensive lineman D.D. Jones paid an official visit to Michigan over the weekend.

Although it did not snow in Ann Arbor this weekend, Jones saw plenty of snow.

“Snow was piled up everywhere,” said Jones, who verbally committed to the Wolverines over the summer. “But it really wasn’t that cold to me.”

One of the highlights of the trip for the handful of recruits was getting to pay a visit to coach Rich Rodriguez’s home.

“We went to coach Rodriguez’s house and played pool,” Jones said. “It’s a three-story mansion.”

Overall, Jones says his visit, “went real good.”

Jones is also scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend. Ed Orgeron, recently hired as the Volunteers’ defensive line coach, is expected to pay a recruiting visit to Bastrop today. Orgeron, the former Ole Miss head coach, spent last season as the New Orleans Saints’ D-line coach before joining Lane Kiffin’s staff in Knoxville.

Previously, Jones made official visits to Arkansas and Auburn. He is still considering both schools, along with Michigan and Tennessee.

Like Randle, Jones will not rush into making a decision.

“I probably won’t know where I’m going until signing day,” Jones said.
The Recruiting Guy

Quote:
Here’s the latest according to a source, Auburn is out of the running for Jones.

He’s on his way to Knoxville to visit Tennessee. Arkansas, Michigan and Tennessee are the three finalists. The source has said in the past that Michigan was out of the picture but evidently Jones’ visit to Ann Arbor went real well.

The Vols get the last visit so that has to be a concern for Arkansas.
