Little Rock Christian running back Michael Dyer also made an unofficial visit to Arkansas this weekend and came away with a scholarship offer.
Running backs coach Tim Horton took Dyer aside after the prospects had eaten Saturday afternoon and offered the scholarship.
“I think it would be a good school to go to. I was pretty honored,” said Dyer, who rushed for more than 2, 700 yards as a sophomore.
Horton is the lead recruiter of Dyer and has his respect.
“I like Tim Horton a lot,” Dyer said “I think if I was to go to Arkansas, he would actually take care of me not just footballwise but keep me in line like a fatherfigure, so I really respect him a lot. I think he’s a good man.” Dyer, 5-10, 190, 4. 37, was a member of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Team and was Sophomore Offensive Player of the Year. He now has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tulsa.

That ability already has college coaches around the country banging down his door and Dyer already has a top three: Arkansas, Florida and Alabama. All three have offered, along with numerous others. With all of the recruiting attention ready to accelerate to a roller-coaster pace, Dyer is not ready to put much focus on the process.

FVSports - The Elite100: Class of 2010
Quote:
4. Michael Dyer
5'9" / 205 pounds / Running Back / Little Rock Christian High School / Little Rock, Arkansas
Contenders: Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Oklahoma
Scouting Report: Named EA Sports National Sophomore of the Year last season, and is currently on pace to eclipse 9,000 rushing yards in his prep career. Has been hand-timed in the sub 4.4 range. Dyer's greatest gift is his vision and ability to create lanes between the tackles when there aren't any. Compact frame allows him to hide behind blockers and get good leverage on first contact, which leads his ridiculous ability to break tackles. Unlike the vast majority of HS tailbacks faster than their peers, Dyer doesn't bounce everything to the outside. Should really benefit him as he transitions into college, and outside of blocking, will have a very short learning curve. Could easily be argued that Dyer is the top tailback in this class, I just value Seastrunk's ability to do more with fewer carries. Dyer will need to dominate the carries to get his maximum value. Has a lot of Curtis Martin in him.

Michael Dyer - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN
Quote:
ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect Michael Dyer told affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com, "(Auburn's) No. 1, and have been No. 1 in my mind for a while. It's hard to say exactly how much Auburn is ahead of the others, but they are. Auburn is just a great place, and I like everything about it."
He continued, "The coaches there are great and are very dedicated. I love the campus. I've played in that type of offense (offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn's system) all through high school. Everything about Auburn feels like home to me. It's just the perfect fit."
Arkansas, Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma remain high on Dyer's list, who expects to announce within the next two months.
