ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Pete Thomas (El Cajon, Calif./Valhalla) recently picked up his first scholarship offer.

"Boston College just offered him," George Whitfield, Thomas' quarterbacks coach said. "Pete called them up Monday and they offered and said they want him to come out for a visit (unofficial) in two weeks when they host Notre Dame.

"So were both going there to check things out. I think a few more schools could be close to offering as well. Coach Morton from USC has been by to watch him play and Pete has attended two USC games this year. Texas A&M and Texas both told me he's the only non-Texas quarterback they're recruiting.

"Nebraska, Miami, Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State and Oregon State have all invited him to their campus and call me once a week to ask about him."

At this time, Thomas is open and not close to narrowing his list.

"Pete likes a lot of schools but isn't leaning anywhere," Whitfield said. "He likes Coach Morton but isn't set on staying close to home. Next June, we're going to be camping all over and he's already looking forward to competing at the NIKE Camp as well."

Thomas is having a very good junior season so far and has thrown for 1,821 yards and 21 touchdowns with just two interceptions in seven games this year. Valhalla is currently 6-1 on the year.
