Saguaro TE Smith commits to ASU

Scottsdale Saguaro senior tight end Max Smith picked a great time to have his best game Friday night.
The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder caught two touchdowns passes in front of Arizona State football coach Dennis Erickson, who on Sunday called Smith and offered him a scholarship.
After talking it over with his parents during the day, Smith called Erickson back Sunday evening and accepted the offer.
His only other offer was to Idaho. He said Colorado State had shown interested but hadn't offered yet.
"I was very shocked," said Smith, who helped Saguaro beat arch-rival Scottsdale Chaparral 21-0 with his 12- and 9-yard touchdown catches from senior quarterbck Cole Rarrick.
