ESPN- College Football Recruiting On the Trail 2009
Quote:
Defensive end Montez Robinson could return to Alabama
Montez Robinson, who lived in Alabama before moving to Indiana, told ESPN affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com that he'll pick either The Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers or Georgia Bulldogs in February.
Additionally, it appears that Robinson has checked out the depth charts of his final schools.
He said, "I know Georgia has got a pretty good stock of defensive ends. Alabama, they really don't have the defensive end/linebacker types. Neither does Auburn."
Robinson is slated to visit Auburn on Sept. 13th for its clash with the defending BCS National Champion LSU Tigers.
A visit to Tuscaloosa, Ala. could be in the works for after the Tide's season.

ESPN - Montez Robinson Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Football Recruiting 2009
Quote:
Touted defensive end Montez Robinson has committed to sign with the Tigers, according to affiliate Web site AuburnUndercover.com.
It appears the chance to play early lured Robinson, "I knew it all along. The biggest thing is I can come in here and get some playing time right away. I can come in here and help. That's what I want to do."
Robinson added, "I'm just happy I committed. I was ready to get it out of the way."
ESPN's Craig Haubert said of the news, "We have no idea if 'Sweet Home Alabama' is Robinson's favorite song, but it would sure make sense. The one time Alabama native who now resides in Indiana is returning home to play his college ball."
"Off the heels of the tough loss to LSU, Auburn fans got a big reason to smile with the commitment of this promising defender. He is a tall, rangy, and athletic kid who possesses good quickness and speed. Tiger fans should not worry about adding a kid from the Hoosier State as Robinson displays the speed to play in the SEC."
"While he needs to keep improving his pass rushing skills his greatest upside is as a speed edge rusher as he can quickly get off the ball. Needs to keep developing as a player versus the run and learn to stay low and use his hands, but has the raw skills to develop into a fine defender. One thing that frustrates you at times about Robinson is that he can be a sloppy tackler and miss some plays he should make, but if he can channel his energy and keep developing his game he could develop into a productive college player."
"This is a good pick-up, and if he keeps developing his game it could turn into a very good pick-up for Auburn."
