LB Jonathan Davis (5-9 205) of Tucker, GA has decided not to move too quickly on making a college decision. "My coach told me to hold off, so I'm going to hold off until the middle of the season," Davis said. Davis will visit UAB unofficially for their game Saturday, and he plans to be in Columbia for the Georgia game. Davis said he plans to talk to his USC recruiter Ron Cooper this week. "I want to see how they feel about me," Davis said. "I'm still strong on South Carolina, but I haven't heard anything from them in a while." Davis counts offers from USC, Louisville, Penn State, Florida State, Miami, Central Florida, UAB and Appalachian State.

Has South Carolina withdrawn offer to Tucker LB Jonathan Davis? | College recruiting | ajc.com

After South Carolina got commitments from two linebackers and two safeties within the last month, there has been speculation that the Gamecocks may have withdrawn an offer to Tucker linebacker Jonathan Davis, arguably the state’s best overall player.
The 5-foot-8, 202-pound Davis confirmed that he has not had any recent contact with South Carolina, but said that he was unconcerned about his status with the Gamecocks.
“They [South Carolina] know how to get in touch with me, if they want,” Davis said. “I don’t know their situation, and I’m not worried about other commitments. If they want me, I’ll guess they let me know. If they don’t want me any more, then I guess they don’t want me anymore. I just don’t know.
“But I’m talking to several colleges. I want to go to a school that wants me. Everything is going to be just fine.”
Davis has offers from Central Florida, Oklahoma State and Alabama-Birmingham, among others.

Tucker linebacker Jonathan Davis said he has set up his first official visit. He will travel to Oklahoma State on Oct. 3.
“They were the [most recent college] to offer me, and they feel like I could start as a freshman,” said Davis, an AJC Super 11 selection. “I’ve heard a lot of great things about Oklahoma State, all the facilities and great coaches. I’m looking forward to it.”
The 5-foot-7, 205-pound Davis said he will make an unofficial visit this Saturday to watch Alabama-Birmingham play Tulsa. Davis also has a lot of interest in Central Florida, and he hasn’t heard whether or not South Carolina is still offering a scholarship.
