I just listened to the audio attached to the Prosser article. He definitely was not "making it up". But it is a possibility there was a misunderstanding between he and the staff. Like they made a general statement, i.e.: "somebody may leave between now and signing day, you never know, which is why we're going to continue actively recruiting you". Like you have to prepare for the worst. But he mistook it as someone specifically is considering leaving the program.
Only problem was he went on to say something to the effect of, "if we're going to continue to recruit you, that means we have a scholarship open". He says they most recently contacted him a couple weeks ago.
