Class of 2010 St. Joseph High School basketball star DeAndre McCamey of the 16-U Illinois Wolves will miss the balance of the travel team season this year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. McCamey rates as one of the top Class of 2008 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois.
McCamey, a 6-1 point guard, suffered the injury on a drive to hole in pool play against the SYF Players at the Spiece Run N' Slam earlier this month in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
McCamey, the younger brother of University of Illinois star DeAndre McCamey, noted that he will likely have surgery in June, and will then begin the rehabilitation process with a timetable that will have him ready for the high school season.
McCamey ranks as one of the top Class of 2010 basketball prospects in the state of Illinois, and teams with Wisconsin-bound Diamond Taylor at St. Joseph High School to form one of the top duo's in the state of Illinois.
