Bernardo Nunez figured on waiting until the fall before picking his college.

Maryland and Miami, Virginia and Pittsburgh, the schools keep sending in offers and the 6-foot-3, 232-pound blue-chip tight end out of Hoboken knows such a loaded list deserves some serious scrutiny.

But then Nunez came to Saturday's spring game at Rutgers. And sat next to Tom Savage, the mega-star quarterback out of Pennsylvania's Cardinal O'Hara High whom Rivals.com says is one of the 25 best prospects in the country and who Friday said he wanted to be a Scarlet Knight.

"Now, with the way he's talking to me," Nunez said, with a nod at Savage, "he makes me want to just say, 'OK, it's Rutgers.' "

It was just the kind of exchange Rutgers coach Greg Schiano was hoping to see – and eavesdrop on – Saturday afternoon, as his current team butted helmets in the annual Scarlet-White game.
