Hot potato is an age-old child's game designed to develop hand-eye coordination, create cases of the giggles and give teachers and camp counselors something to fill idle time.
Last night, teenagers from DeSales and New Albany took turns throwing around momentum in a high school football game that just might determine which team is seeded higher in the Division II playoffs.
When the ball stopped bouncing and the teams were finished making sensational plays, the Stallions outlasted the Eagles 23-20 on a 38-yard field goal by Mark Sherman with 8.1 seconds left in front of a crowd of almost 5,000 in Alumni Stadium.
