Ben Chappell wasn’t far from having a perfect day statistically in his first scrimmage as Indiana’s No. 1 quarterback.
The Bloomington South grad completed 18-of-21 pass attempts. All three incompletions were catchable balls that receivers dropped.
“It was a great day,” Chappell said. “The offensive line did great. We really did well with the tempo.”
IU’s offense has a lot of young players taking key roles this spring with the losses of James Hardy to the NFL, Kellen Lewis to an indefinite suspension and three projected starters on the offensive line to injuries, along with the news that receiver James Bailey will transfer for his final season.
