Byrnes DB Has Offer

Byrnes DB Cartier Rice (5-11 177) of Duncan, SC has been hearing from many colleges around the Southeast. Michigan State is cureently his only offer. He has, however, gotten heavy interest from Auburn, Louisville, Georgia, and Marshall. Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, NC State, and USC have been in touch, as well. Rice has been active along the camp circuit, attending one-day camps at Louisville, Georgia, and Illinois. He also went to a Junior Days at Marshall earlier in the year. Although the Spartans are the only ones to offer, Rice says that he has no favorites, "I'm still open" he said. Rice, who had 3 interceptions and 40 tackles last season, says that he will probably not commit until after the season, "Most likely, I'm going to wait it out."
