USC and Clemson are locked up in a tight battle for South Pointe ATH Stephon Gilmore (6-2 190). "South Carolina and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest," Gilmore said. "I talked to Ellis Johnson (USC) two days ago. He wants me to come down there and come to their junior day. I talked to coach Napier (Clemson) a week ago. We were just talking. I've been keeping in touch with both schools." Both are recruiting Gilmore as a defensive back. He also has offers from Florida, Florida State, Alabama, LSU, NC State, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Penn State and Maryland. Gilmore visited Tennessee a couple of weeks ago for a junior day and that's been his only visit because track has taken up most of his weekends. Gilmore said he does not have a favorite.
