Ironically, if he's a one-and-done the Badgers are in better shape. (I did a monster version of Heavystarch's schoarship chart today with commits, prospects, and depth charts ... it took a while and I need to do something to make it worth the effort. So bear with me.) It would leave Bo with three open schollies in 2010 as opposed to the five that would it would open up in '11 or '12. Bo is already going after forwards (Harrison Barnes) for the 2010 season, so Wilson's replacement would already be on the way. Center looks to be the other target (Evan Anderson), and the extra schollie could be used on a shooting guard.

Should Bo have 5 open schollies I have to assume he'd try to get a JC or lower-division transfer to use the rest of Wilson's. Someone that could come in right away and play that also had only two or three years of eligibility left. Does Flowers have any more brothers?

Of course I'd rather have Wilson stay for as long as possible, and staying for all four years obviously works out the best scholarships-wise. And I don't think that he'll only spend one year in college. Without a great outside game he's too short to head to the NBA that quickly.

Random enough?

1 - Im still hoping that we land him but Im not getting my hopes up
2 - Because the Big10 does not allow for oversigning if he was a one and done we would not be able to use the scholarship on anybody in '10 unless they were not signed anywhere by the end of their senior season (by the time that he would sign with an agent and be off scholarship). This is why
it took an extra year to use a scholarship for Devin leaving. You can get them to verbal to you but they wont be able to sign with you until after that player has lost his eligiblity and I dont know if anyone would wait out on whether or not someone is going pro or not if they had other options (Im assuming all the good players would).
