But Trinity looks to be the only team from the area with a chance at capturing the state title. The Shamrocks had four wrestlers advance to the championship semifinals: Myron Bradbury (103 pounds), Kenny Watkins (140), Brad Hitchings (171) and Jordan Whiting (285).

Whiting, who has committed to play football at Ohio State, will face No. 2 Billy Fuller of Campbell County in a semifinal. Whiting pinned Lafayette's Evan Bullock at the 4:29 mark last night to cap an emotional match.
"He was a little bit excited," Rudolph said. "I think that's the most intense I've seen him all year."

Whiting likes Buckeyes
The top high school football prospect in Kentucky next season will be Trinity linebacker and Ohio State commitment Jordan Whiting.
The 6-foot 220-pounder said a lot of other major colleges are still recruiting him but noted that Ohio State is "the place I want to go."
"Any college that I talk to, I let them know up front that I've made my verbal commitment to Ohio State, and a lot of coaches come to me and say that being only a junior they're not going to give up," Whiting said.
He said Louisville and Kentucky are showing interest. He said he also has a scholarship offer from Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino, whose sons played at Trinity when he coached U of L.
Even with all the suitors, Whiting said he's set on going to Columbus.
"I have a lot of family there and it's a place where I want to go to get my degree, and it's a great school for my major (business and sports management)," Whiting said. "It's the best fit for me."
