I kind of agree with that, it's just that recent history has trended elsewhere. It's basically like saying Obama will win Maryland without actually polling there, because the demographic make up seems to favor him. While I do not think Marquette is the announced favorite, or maybe not even the favorite, they have the whole Racine to Milwaukee thing, and they were the first to be in contact with him (maybe the first to offer). That is why people (correctly or incorrectly) are giving the edge to MU.

As you have found, there is a lot going for UW as well. It's really anyones guess
