Joe Jones, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound defensive end from Green Run High in Virginia Beach, committed Wednesday to Virginia Tech.
Jones, who had 96 tackles highlighted by 17 sacks in his senior season, also considered scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, Maryland, West Virginia and Connecticut. He's the 31st football player to commit to the Hokies for enrollment in 2008 or '09 (28 for the '08 recruiting class).
