Watkins is the headliner of a talented group of quarterbacks that includes Maine South's Charlie Goro, Marian Central's Jon Budmayr, Aurora Christian's Jordan Roberts, Batavia's Jordan Coffey and Aurora Central's Mike Adams.

The 6-6, 225-pounder, who led Glenbard North to a second-place finish in Class 8A last season, has been offered a scholarship by Iowa and has attracted interest from Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington and Tennessee.

''I want to keep my options open. Where will I fit in best?'' Watkins said. ''Wisconsin is my dream school. They play my style. I'm a pro-style quarterback, a dropback passer, not a spread option. I have no timetable. I want to play it smart. I want to see what is best for me.''
