New Auburn offensive coordinator Tony Franklin visited Enrique Davis on Wednesday night and told him there would be plenty of opportunities for a running back to excel in the Tigers' new spread offense.
Davis told AuburnSports.com the visit went well and put a positive spin on the night, which came less than a week after he decommitted from the Tigers after expressing concern over the number of carries he might receive in the new offensive scheme. Davis said he remains uncommitted, but said he was favorably impressed after watching Franklin's offense on tape Wednesday.
"I was a little surprised from some of the stuff I saw. They do run the ball more than I thought they did," Davis told the Web site. "I liked what they showed me.''
Franklin and running backs coach Eddie Gran visited the standout tailback at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia.
Davis, one of the stars of Auburn's recruiting class in 2007, had originally said he would re-sign with the Tigers after a year at Hargrave. But he recently expressed concern over Franklin's spread offense. He officially decommitted last Friday. He visited Ole Miss last weekend and said he'll visit Oregon this weekend. He's also scheduled to visit Tennessee.
Auburn received a commitment from running back Eric Smith of Seffner, Fla., last weekend, a day after Davis said he was looking at other schools.

There was no word on whether Davis' status had changed when they left. Davis, from Lynn Haven, Fla., signed with Auburn last February but failed to qualify. He remained committed to Auburn until last week, when he said de-committed because he didn't like Auburn's new spread offense.
Davis visited Ole Miss last weekend. He said he was still considering Ole Miss, Florida State, Maryland, Auburn, Oregon and Tennessee.
