Truesdell goes long way to help Anderson win
(MASSILLON)
One big catch can do wonders for nerves.
It helped Nick Truesdell in Friday’s Division II state championship game at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. The Cincinnati Anderson receiver was able to loosen up for a big night against Louisville after his long touchdown reception early on.
Truesdell caught five passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns in Anderson’s 31-25 victory over the Leopards. He undoubtedly went to bed feeling like a champion after having a hard time sleeping the night before.

He transferred this year from an abysmal Milford football team. During the year he only had 30 some catches. Anderson had so much success running the ball, they didn't throw it to him.

He had a hell of a game against Louisville. The kid is 6'7" and can jump out of the gym. He is also an all-star bball player, and supposedly has offers for basketball, but not for football.

- Played at Anderson as a freshman and then transferred to Milford (who does not have a very strong program).
- Transferred back this year...effort level was not their initially but then the light clicked on and he became a force.
- Literally flew under the radar until about halfway through this year...and now has coaches requesting tape.
- Surprisingly fast for his size with great athleticism (returns kicks/runs reverses/etc.)...skinny at 6'7" but has the frame to add weight. Best comparison so far is Chris Henry (on the field...not off).
- Still thinking about basketball but that could change after his state championship performance and once the calls start coming for football.

By Steve Hare for OV...talks about his big state title game and about the whirlwind of recruiting that has started. Coaches from the likes of OSU, Kent State, NC State and WVU were in to see him. Isn't sure if he will play football or basketball at the next level.
