First off, excellent analysis.

This could be the biggest and most intriguing CFB hiring in years. The last two premium job openings - Notre Dame and Florida - were both filled by obvious candidates. If Les Miles doesn't get the gig (and I don't think that he will), then it's anybody's guess who ends up with the job. Could the Wolves be looking under the radar, like Ohio State did when they hired Jim Tressel in 2001? That move worked pretty well for the Buckeyes, although at the time it seemed strange (at least to the national media and the casual fan) that a top-10 program would hire a relatively unknown I-AA coach.
