Mayfield's offense had gone to the well so many times this football season with tailback Ashante Williams that Wildcats coaches were hoping someone new would step up and take the pressure off the University of Illinois recruit.
Enter Frankie Ferritto.
The senior quarterback not only stepped up but took a giant leap into the spotlight during the Wildcats' 12-7 victory over Normandy during Friday night's Division II regional championship game at Bedford's Bearcat Stadium.
