Recruiting Roundup: Notre Dame Losing Ground - MaxPreps Articles

Quote:
Offensive lineman Angelo Mangiro from Roxbury and running back Savon Huggins from St. Peter’s Prep will both be ranked among the top recruits nationally in their position. Notre Dame has its sights set on each.

Rutgers is already putting the full court press on both players. Greg Schiano has had success keeping top offensive linemen in-state recently, so that plays in the Scarlet Knights' favor.

Huggins has no leader yet and isn’t afraid to leave the state. He put on a show at last weekend’s 7-on-7 held at Rutgers and his stock continues to rise.

Scout.com: Plenty of Schools Want Huggins

7/27

By Matt Alkire. Savon mentions hearing from Rutgers that he has a verbal offer, and says he'll be waiting to see which schools officially offer on September 1st....says he knows Nebraska, UCLA, Miami (FL), Wake Forest, PSU, Notre Dame, Florida, Oklahoma, and a lot of other schools are showing some real interest. Wants to go to a place that feels like home, where he feels he has family there for him, he can relate to the coaches and they can be father figures (somewhat), as well as earn a very good education.

Scout.com: Huggins Starts With Six Offers

9/9/09

By Matt Alkire. Savon's father says his son has received written offers from West Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers, Tennessee, and Miami (FL)....St. Peters Prep football HC also told him UVA coaches were at the school this Tuesday and had said they were putting the written offer in the mail immediately.
