Washington gets Kearse and Riva - ESPN

Quote:
It has been a good week for Washington as the Huskies reeled in two of the state's top prospects. The headliner is Lakes (Lakewood, Calif.) wide out Jamaal Kearse, one of the top pass catchers in the West region.

Kearse had an impressive showing at the Nike Camp in Oregon a year ago and then backed it up with a solid season on both sides of the ball. He caught 39 passes for 751 yards and 11 touchdowns to go with 63 tackles and two picks on defense.

"My brother (Jermaine) being at Washington was definitely a plus for me," Kearse said. "He's happy there but this was my decision. Just watching the practices and talking to their coaches got me excited about wanting to play for Washington. I like the direction the program is going in and I'm looking forward to being a Husky."

Although he said his commitment is solid, Kearse also said he may take a few official visits in the fall.

"I'm still thinking about taking my visits just to make sure I made the right decision," Kearse said. "I'm pretty solid with Washington though. It's a just a good overall fit for me and that's where I'll end up."

Kearse will be in attendance at the Nike Camp in Oregon on June 13.
