Furman on Film By Matt Alkire
Recruiting Analyst
Posted Feb 11, 2009
We have spent plenty of time talking about Old Mill High School athlete Josh Furman’s pure athleticism, however the proof it usually in the film and Scout.com recently got hold of his junior highlights on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Scout.com: Furman Thinking Officials
7/29
By Matt Alkire. Josh's coach would like to take him for a visit to Pittsburgh next weekend but Josh isn't sure if it will happen at that time...does say the visit will happen. Knows he will be taking official visits to both Michigan and Maryland in September....also wants to visit Virginia Tech and needs to think about the other two.

Scout.com: Three official visits in place for Furman
8/1
By John Talty. Josh will definitely be visiting Maryland, Michigan, and Virginia Tech, however he did not say that those three are his favorites. Wants a successful program with good academics, and a family atmosphere.

ESPN Furman turns into a fan -ESPN Rise FOOTBALL
Quote:
Josh Furman lay on the ground, the pain real -- the fear setting in.
"I took a toss to the right, before I made my plant, my left knee tweaked," Furman said following Old Mill's 17-16 victory over Wise in the Class 4A state final. "I was scared for my career. I thought my ACL or MCL was hurt, or something."
Good news for Furman, it was neither, just a sprain. However, the first-quarter play on which he lost a yard, basically brought to a halt his stellar senior season. Furman, a national recruit who plans to announce his college decision Dec. 19 at the Crab Bowl, came back for one play in the second quarter.
"I went back out there and I just couldn't run," Furman said. "I couldn't plant on my left knee so I told my coach and teammates I can't go out there tonight."
Furman ended the night with 12 yards on six carries. In his absence, teammate Jason Clements took over, carrying the ball 40 times for 164 yards and a touchdown.
"When I went down, he said he got me and he was going to run his heart out for me," Furman said of Clements. "And you saw what he did against Wise's defense."
"It was my last game of my career as a senior," Furman said. "I had a pretty large crowd and I wanted to show fans what I could do against a good defense like Wise. [Instead], I was just on the sideline rooting on my teammates."
