After the Army Combine, he is getting looks more as a defensive tackle. UCLA and Rutgers have offered, Maryland has not. BC and Georgia are visiting him soon.

Please note that these rankings are where the prospects are at this moment. The order will change when our first official Top 50 is revealed in the spring, and it will change once again as the season plays out. Young men of this age develop rapidly, both physically and in their knowledge of the game, so some will progress faster and further than others. That includes young men not even on this list who will no doubt come “out of nowhere” over the next year to prove that they also are future college players. But barring anything drastic, those on this list will be ranked highly all season and all will play at major programs.

4. Sharrif Floyd, George Washington HS (Philadelphia) DT/OG- Kids from inside Philadelphia are generally under-recruited, but that should change for this 6'4" 300 pound behemoth after he destroyed the competition at a major national underclassmen combine in Texas last month. Played mostly offensive guard in high school so far, and he could project extremely well there also, but a kid this strong and athletic is hard to pass up on the interior defensive line. Dedicated player who raised his own funds in order to attend the combine in Texas. Maryland and Temple have offered early, but there will be many more.

Personally, I believe Penn State is the team to beat for the following Rivals.com-rated four-star prospects: defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd from George Washington High School in Philadelphia.

Scout.com: Floyd Still Feeling the Blue
7/13
By Eugene Hankerson. Will be visiting PSU this weekend, and then follow it up the 22nd-26th with a trip to Florida....while in Florida Sharrif will visit Florida, Florida State, Miami (FL), and FIU...will also attend the Top Gun camp in Florida at the end of July. Sharrif says PSU has everything he is looking for and that it is one of the few schools he feels comfortable at....RU and BC are also there. Says Michigan is in it, talks about UM, the Stokes family, and when a potential Michigan visit could happen.

Lions vs. Gators for Floyd? -
8/12
Quote:
By Bill Kurelic, NN Recruiting Analyst

August 12, 2009
In July, Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd said he would likely take three official visits, with one of them being to Penn State. Floyd has since changed his mind a little, but still plans to visit the Nittany Lions.
“I’m going to take all five official visits,” Floyd said Tuesday evening. “I’ll probably visit Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Florida, something like that.”
The 6-foot-3 and 309-pound defensive lineman has plenty of choices. The sixth-rated defensive tackle and 74th-ranked overall prospect in the class of 2010 according to the recently-released ESPNU 150 estimates his scholarship offer list to stand between 35 and 40. The list includes Penn State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Florida, Pitt, West Virginia, Michigan, Boston College, Miami, Rutgers, UCLA, Temple and others.

Kurelic’s Comment: I think Penn State and Florida are the schools to beat at this point, and I think it could be a very close race. In the end, I tend to think the Nittany Lions win out.

By Mike Farrell. Sharrif is adamant that he has no leaders, is keeping things open, and isn't close to a decision. Plans to take official visits to Florida and South Carolina with PSU, Southern Cal, Rutgers, Miami (FL), Michigan, Illinois and UCLA in the mix for his other official visits...Boston College and North Carolina are also in there but he doesn't think he'll take officials. Says he needs to talk with PSU coach Larry Johnson, off the field incidents have been happening at PSU and as they continue he loses a bit of interest...not off his list just down some.

By Mike Farrell. Sharrif visited Florida for the Tennessee game for his first official visit. He says Florida was great, he had a great time....talks about the FNL camp previously, but says it doesn't compare because he got to meet players, see what game day was like and experience everything. This official set the bar high...USC is next up this weekend, followed by PSU and South Carolina in October, and North Carolina in November. Ohio State, Michigan, RU are still there as well, Sharrif has been to RU but if he takes his five officials and has yet to decide, he'll take an unofficial visit to Ohio State and Michigan.

(USCfootball.com)....Sharrif says USC was one of those schools he just had to see....says distance isn't a factor, he felt like he could fit in at USC and that they'll be one of his finalists....both USC and UF will be there.
