RB Giovanni Bernard, JR, St. Thomas Aquinas - Bernard scored two touchdowns in the game including an impressive 70-yard kickoff return. He has received offers from Auburn, FIU, Boston College, Miami, West Virginia, and Rutgers.

Bernard on the early offers: "It's an amazing thing. It's definitely out of this world. I never expected myself at this early of age to get my name out there that quick so I am happy about that."

Bernard on Miami: "It's a real close place. Me and my brothers have been growing up around there and my dad and uncle. It's an amazing thing to play for somewhere that close."

Giovanni Bernard is well aware of the tradition of his school. He was a key part of the team that claimed a mythical national title this year. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound running back is currently a junior.

He also is attracting quite a bit of attention from some of the nation's top powerhouses. So far, Miami (Fla.), Boston College, Auburn, Maryland, West Virginia, Oregon State, Rutgers and Florida International have all extended scholarship offers to the class of 2010 star. He was also rated by Rivals.com as one of the top 250 overall national prospects in his class.

"I don't have a bit of a clue about which one I'm favoring yet, although my brother (Yvenson Bernard) went to Oregon State, so they might have a slight edge over the others I haven't checked out yet," Bernard told Sporting News Today. "It's definitely a whole new process. I'm not really used to it at all and it's my first year getting into it. It's a good thing; I really like it a lot, I guess. I hope more (offers) roll in and I stay humble. I try not to think about it all too much."

Noles offer Aquinas running back Giovanni Bernard
ESPNU 150 Watch List ball-carrier Giovani Bernard has received a scholarship offer from Florida State, affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com reports.

He said, "It was big to get me noticed by the big-time Florida schools. Before, the only one of the 20 big schools to offer me was Miami, but now with Florida State offering, that really gets my name out there. I've known I had an offer from them for about a week, but the information is just now getting out there."

Bernard previously stated he was especially interested in Miami, West Virginia, Maryland and Oregon State (where his older brother Yvenson starred).

Other programs such as Auburn, Arkansas, Pittsburgh, UConn, Rutgers and Florida International have also offered Bernard.
