USC is one of the offers for OL Andrew Carter (6-6 265) of Tallahassee and he plans to visit the Gamecocks some time this spring. "I talked to coach (Shane) Beamer in the last week or two," Carter said. "He told me they really want me. They could use me on offense or defense, so if I do go up there, they would see where I fit best." Carter also has offers from Louisville, Florida State, Central Florida and Miami. He's also hearing from Auburn, Georgia and South Florida. He has been to Auburn, Florida State and Central Florida and plans to visit Georgia March 23rd. He does not claim any favorites right now.

By Bone...South Florida and East Carolina have offered, joining Miami, South Carolina, Louisville, Florida State and Central Florida. Thinks Georgia and Auburn are close to offering.

OL Andrew Carter (6-6 265) of Tallahassee spent Friday at USC and will be on hand Saturday for the scrimmage at Williams-Brice Stadium. "I really liked it," Carter said. "I'll get to see more of the coaches and facilities tomorrow. I met with coach Spurrier in his office. It's been a really nice visit. I talked with coach (Shane) Beamer a lot. He gave us a mini-tour." Carter also has visited Georgia and will go to Florida April 12th. And, of course, he's been over to Florida State several times. He has offers from USC, Florida State, Miami, Louisville, Central Florida, South Florida and East Carolina. Georgia and Auburn also are showing interest. He does not claim a favorite.

From the South Carolina site. Florida State, South Carolina, Miami, Louisville, Purdue, Illinois, Rutgers and Michigan have offered. Michigan and Illinois are the only schools that are sure to get official visits. Even though he is from Florida, he says that doesn't make him a lock to stay there...as he grew up in New Hampshire.

From the Michigan site. Interview with Carter's coach. Carter has interest in Michigan, but he says that Florida State is the school to beat. He expects Andrew to trim his list soon after some visits.

By M Seitz. Carter had good visits to Miami, UCF and USF, and talks a bit about each. Maryland, Michigan State and Mississippi State are the most recent to offer him. Chemistry with the coaches, facilities, and getting a good education will be big factors in his choice.

From the Michigan site. Carter visited Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana and Purdue and says that every single visit went great. He also says that Florida State is not his leader like some of suggested, and that every school is even until he cuts his list. He plans to decide before his season starts.

Illinois commit tempted by new offer
Friday, October 31, 2008
Posted by Bill Kurelic
Offensive lineman Andrew Carter (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) committed to Illinois in July over scholarship offers from: Florida State, Miami, Michigan State, Michigan, South Carolina and a number of others. In all, Carter had 17 offers. When No. 18 came on Thursday, Carter admitted it had him thinking.
"I was offered (Thursday) by Boston College," Carter said. "I have to admit, it was tempting because I'm from that area. It was tempting, but I'm committed to Illinois. That's where I'm going."
Carter grew up in New Hampshire and lived there until the age of 10.
Carter scheduled an official visit to Illinois the weekend of Nov. 15 when the Fighting Illini play Ohio State. He will be one of at least four prospects schedule to make official visits to Illinois that weekend. Carter said that will be his only official visit.
