Scout Bio:
Quote:
Bright is a dynamic athlete and always excels during big game situations. Delivers some bone jarring hits and appears that he will only get stronger and faster. Pair those things with legit 4.5 speed and he has the makings of a fine high major D1 prospect.

From the SC Prep site. Florida State has offered, and Bright expects more offers soon.

Florida State and Texas A&M are the first two offers for DB Justin Bright (6-2 185) of Byrnes. Clemson and USC are among several others showing interest. Others are Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. Bright attended USC's junior day and was at Clemson's first spring practice. He was at Georgia last Saturday and is going to Auburn this weekend. He'll visit Florida State April 2-5. Bright said while he was at Clemson he had a chance talk to his recruiter Billy Napier and defensive coordinator Vic Koenning. "They took four safeties last year and will evaluate them and go from there, so I'm not really sure about an offer," Bright said. As for his two offers, Bright is excited to draw that kind of attention from those schools. "Florida State is definitely one of my top schools because they offered me first and I like the state of Florida," he said. "It's a good program with a lot of tradition. And to be able to say my head coach was Bobby Bowden....I like Texas A&M a lot, too. They've always been a real good program. Coach (Mike) Sherman is coming in and they will be able to do a lot more." Last season Bright had 114 tackles, six tackles for loss, nine passes broken up, four interceptions, one fumble return for a touchdown and one pass interception return for a score. Bright plays free and strong safety.

DB Justin Bright (6-2 185) of Byrnes was on hand Saturday at Clemson for the Tigers' spring game. In fact, Bright made it a full weekend in Tigertown. "I went down Friday and watched practice and spent the night with the guys from Byrnes," Bright said. "I'm good friends with a lot of guys on the team. I got to meet Craig Loston. We talked a good bit. I've been going there since I was little so I know pretty much everything down there. I spent the night Saturday night, too, and came back Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed it. I talked to coach Napier. They' got four safeties last year and they are sitting back right now and evaluate those guys and see what kind of players they get out of that group. And they are going after Holloman, Loston and Gilmore. He wants to see how things pan out. He told me to be patient and bear with him right now." Bright has offers from Florida State and Texas A&M. He's also hearing from USC, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. Bright said he heard from USC commitment Chris Payne that Gamecock safeties coach Ron Cooper is considering him for an offer. Bright was invited to Notre Dame's spring game this weekend but has a combine at his school. He recently visited Florida State and said that was a great visit. "It was top notch," he said. "I sat down with coach Bowden and the whole coaching staff. I felt real comfortable around everybody." Bright said he'll take another visit to Florida State at some point.

Byrnes' Bright commits to Florida State | GoUpstate.com | Spartanburg, S.C.

Quote:
After talking with Florida State offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher in Duncan on Tuesday, Byrnes safety Justin Bright knew the time was right.

So, the junior verbally committed to the ACC school.

“Coach Fisher dropped by and it just felt right talking to him,” said Bright, who finished last season with more than 110 tackles. “I just feel like they’re getting something started down there, and I want to be a part of it.”

Bright is the second local football player to commit to a Division I school, as Dorman cornerback Taylor Sowell committed to North Carolina in February.

Bright said he also had an offer from Texas A&M and thought offers from Notre Dame and Virginia were coming.

Bright said he gave a “soft verbal” commitment to Florida State coaches when he visited the school during his spring break. He didn’t tell many people of that decision, but was happy to talk about the chance to play for the Seminoles after making the final decision.

From the FSU site. Bright visited FSU again this past weekend, and says the trip reaffirmed his choice and he is 100% solid with FSU. He got to talk with the coaches at length and also set up everything to enroll early in January.

By B Hayes. Stanford, North Carolina and Clemson have been in heavy contact, but Bright says he is still solid with FSU and is looking forward to his official visit. He will no longer be graduating early.
