LB Chaun Gresham (6-3 200) of Winder, GA will attend Clemson's junior day Saturday, but it's USC making a strong effort to land him. The Gamecocks offered Gresham during this past season and they have let him know how much he's wanted. "They say they really want me down there and I'd be a good addition to the team," Gresham said. Gresham also has offers from Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Marshall and Georgia Southern. He's also getting interest from Clemson and Georgia. He doesn't have a favorite and isn't planning an early decision. Last season Gresham had 113 tackles and 5 sacks as a weakside linebacker.

Clemson is the latest offer for LB Chaun Gresham (6-3 200) of Winder, GA. "I was happy and surprised to get that offer," Gresham said of his offer from Clemson. "I am probably going to go up there some time soon and check out their campus." Gresham, a nephew of former USC great George Rogers, also has offers from USC, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Marshall and Georgia Southern. "They are still after me hard," Gresham said of the Gamecocks. "I still talk to them. My mother just may not want me to go there because of the fact my uncle went there and did so well. She may not want me to live in his shadow." Georgia also is recruiting Gresham who had 113 tackles and five sacks a year ago. He does not claim a favorite.

LB Chaun Gresham (6-3 200) of Winder, GA has been committed to Georgia Tech since March, but USC has remained in touch, and that effort appears to be paying off. "I'm still pretty much still looking around," Gresham said. "The only other school I'm looking at a lot is South Carolina. I still consider myself committed to Georgia Tech, but things are getting harder with all the schools still coming at me. Tennessee just offered me. The schools are still coming at me and I like that." Gresham said USC recruiter Shane Beamer was at his practice Monday and he talked to Beamer last week. Gresham said he will take some visits this summer with USC being one of his stops.

Apalachee linebacker Chaun Gresham says he remains committed to Georgia Tech, but is “studying other options.”

“I just want to be sure I’m making sure the right decision,” Gresham said. “I’m still committed to Georgia Tech for now … but who knows what the future holds?”

South Carolina is strongly pursuing Gresham, who is rated as the nation’s No. 47 outside linebacker by Rivals. Gresham attended the Gamecocks’ prospect camp last month and had a lengthy conversation with coach Steve Spurrier.

“He was really cool,” Gresham said. “He told me I could have a chance at starting after my red-shirt year, or he told me I could compete as a freshman. He said if freshmen are good enough to play, then they’ll play for him immediately.”

Gresham said he will take official visits to Tech and South Carolina. He also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others.

Apalachee linebacker Chaun Gresham abruptly switched his commitment from Georgia Tech to South Carolina on Friday.

“I just felt like it was the right thing to do,” Gresham said. “I loved everything about South Carolina camp last month, and haven’t been able to stop thinking about the place ever since.”

Gresham said he talked over the phone with Georgia Tech assistant Brian Jean-Mary to let him know about his change of heart. “[Tech] was disappointed with me, but they respected my decision.”

Gresham is the nephew of George Rogers, who won the 1980 Heisman Trophy at South Carolina. However, Gresham, who is a member of the AJC’s Super Southern 100 and ranked as the country’s No. 47 linebacker by Rivals, said his famous family connection had no effect on switching to the Gamecocks.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Gresham also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, among others.

South Carolina has picked up its 14th commitment in Apalachee (Winder, Ga.), linebacker Chaun Gresham, who switched his pledge from Georgia Tech to the Gamecocks, reports ESPN affiliate web site TheBigSpur.com.
Gresham, the No. 22-rated outside linebacker in the Class of 2009, also holds offers from Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

"It was a long process and it took thinking," Gresham said. "I debated between Georgia Tech and South Carolina for a while. At first, I wanted to go to Tech because they have great academics and I liked what they were telling me. But when I went to the Gamecock Showcase (on July 18), I saw the campus and met all of the coaches and I knew then. Everything impressed me," he said. "It's calm and peaceful out there. I know in Atlanta, it's busy. It's so peaceful and calm over there. I liked it."
Gresham also met with the Gamecocks head coach, Steve Spurrier. "He just told me how much he was interested in me and how much I would help their program," he said. "I like to hear that from Hall of Fame coach. That's good."
Gresham added that his decision was a final one and that he did not intend on changing his mind again. "I'm done," he said. "I'm a Gamecock."
