From the ND site. Notre Dame as well as Wake Forest, Nebraska, California and USC are all in touch. Yarnway will take a lot of visits this summer, and says distance will not be a factor.

From the GT site. Yarnway has been hearing the most from Cal and Georgia Tech. He has no favorite, and adds that comfort level will be a major factor in making a choice.

From the Cal site. Oregon and Cal lead, with Washington and UCLA also being of interest. He adds that the recent Oregon article that claimed he put down another school is untrue. A big factor in his choice will be comfort level with the RB coach.

Summer Verdict? By Allen Wallace
National Recruiting Editor

"I'm looking to make a decision soon, probably within the next few weeks," Dasarte Yarnway said. "Recruiting is getting real business-like and more schools are looking to fill spots fast. Plus, I've been lucky because I've seen a lot of schools already and feel like I know them all pretty well. Official visits are great, but I think you get a more realistic view of college during..."

By B Huffman. Yarnway wanted to make his choice before his season started, but says he may now wait longer so he can see a few more places. His top five is Arizona State, Washington, UCLA, Cal and Oregon, and he is leaning to staying in the Pac-10.

ESPN

Quote:
After narrowing his choices to Pac 10 rivals Cal and Oregon, running back Dasarte Yarnway has decided to stay close to home and committed earlier today to the Golden Bears, ESPN's Greg Biggins reports.

Yarnway also held offers from UCLA, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State and Colorado. Cal has always been a childhood favorite and Yarnway took an unofficial visit to Oregon back in May.

In the end, the lure of staying close to home so his family could watch him play as well as his relationship with the Bear coaching staff was too much to overcome.

Yarnway told ESPN affiliate Web site BearInsider.com, "Cal just had everything that I was looking for, with great academics, athletics and coaches. It was just the perfect opportunity for me. And the relationship I've developed with the coaches, especially (running backs) Coach (Ron) Gould and (Cal Head) Coach (Jeff) Tedford and all the coaches is very strong. They took the time with me to establish that relationship and that bond and that's important to me."

The 6-foot, 215-pound prospect has already accounted for 680 yards and eight touchdowns this fall.
