BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : College football: Buckeyes still seek two more prospects
Quote:
Late yesterday afternoon, Marcus Hall was waiting his turn in a barbershop in Cleveland. This evening, he is expected to be in Knoxville, Tenn., taking a tour of the University of Tennessee during an official visit.
Such is the life for the offensive lineman from Cleveland Glenville, one of the few remaining top prospects who has yet to commit to a college. He's one reason why Ohio State, despite having 24 commitments for a class that's ranked No. 1 nationally by Scout.com, is still playing the waiting game.
"I plan on making my announcement sometime Monday," Hall said by phone from the noisy barbershop.
Ohio State, the University of Miami, Michigan and Tennessee are in the running, and he has tended to be taken by the last place he visited. But asked if he had a No. 1, he didn't hesitate.
"At this point, my favorite is Ohio State," Hall said.

Eye on the U
Quote:
OL Marcus Hall, 6-5, 295, Cleveland (Oh.) Glennville: Hall visited Miami on Jan. 23 and told nearly every national recruiting website it was going to be his last trip. Turns out, according to Glennville offensive coordinator Matt Chinchar, Hall isn't done yet. He's visiting Tennessee this weekend. The U.S. Army All-American definitely enjoyed his trip to South Florida and has told everyone close to him he's really considering the Canes. But he was also seriously considering Michigan not that long agom too. And now, his new flavor of the week is Tennessee.
UM's chances: Slim. You would like to think you could take a kid for his word, but in this case I get the sense Hall is playing some games and telling people (reporters and friends) what they want to hear. The truth is, the only person he really wants to make happy is his mother. And mom wants him at nearby Ohio State.

Offensive lineman Marcus Hall from Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio, will announce his college decision at his school at 1 p.m. today (Monday).
Hall said he will choose among Tennessee, Ohio State and Miami.
Hall took an official visit to UT this past weekend and came away impressed with the Vols coaching staff.
"That coaching staff is incredible," Hall told the News Sentinel. "The amount of players going to the NFL from there will probably go way up. I know that for a fact.
"That's because of the atmosphere Coach Kiffin and coach (Ed Orgeron) is creating around there. They're really going to change that place."
Many have thought Ohio State to be the leader for Hall.
In fact, Hall showed little interest in UT until his teammate, cornerback Mike Edwards, committed to the Vols on Jan. 25.
"He told me he liked it a lot," Hall said of Edwards. "That really showed me something. That's what really got me interested."
