Deer Creek tight end Zach Trujillo was offered by Kansas State on Wednesday night. The senior gave his oral commitment Thursday night.
Trujillo becomes the second Deer Creek football player to commit to a Division I school. Teammate Dax Dilbeck committed to Oregon State in July. Dilbeck is the Antlers' quarterback.
“It's crazy, but it's real exciting, too,” Trujillo said. “They (KSU) have a great coaching staff.”
Trujillo visited the campus three times and said he liked the atmosphere. He is being recruited as an athlete, but early indications would have the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder at tight end.
Trujillo caught a touchdown pass and had a sack in a scrimmage Friday night against Tecumseh.
