From the UVA site...says Cam decision does not change his view of UVA. Says OSU is coming on strong but not as strong as UVA and is considering an official to OSU this weekend. Also talks about the possibility of staying at home and joining Cam at Pitt.

The 6-3, 245-pound Hale has narrowed his choices to Pitt and Ohio State, and could commit to the Panthers early next month while playing in the nationally televised U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
Hale was wooed by the Oakland Zoo in similar fashion to star tailback
LeSean "Shady" McCoy last January. Hale left his courtside seat next to Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt in the first half to stand in the student section, where one handmade sign read, "Shady+Shayne=BCS."
Where McCoy confirmed his choice by checking a blank box next to his name, Hale might have tipped his hand by donning a gold Oakland Zoo T-shirt during a timeout.

Hale getting set for annual all-star game | YourMonroeville.com
Quote:
Hale, who is being heavily recruited by Ohio State, Pitt and other Division I programs, said there is a possibility he could make his decision as early as Saturday.
At the same time, he said he doesn't want to make the decision -- one of the most important ones of his life -- without carefully reviewing all the factors.
That could push his announcement closer to the National Letter of Intent signing day on Feb. 6.
Hale made official visits to Pitt and Ohio State about a week apart early last month.
He was in Morgantown to witness the Pitt-West Virginia game and has heard lots of good things about the Panthers from teammate Cameron Saddler, who gave a verbal commitment to Pitt on Dec. 5.
"The process hasn't been too bad," Hale said. "It's been a little overwhelming at times, but you have to make it fun. You can't let it get too crazy."

By B Lichtenfels and G Powers. Video interview with Hale who says he is enjoying his time in San Antonio. Shayne says he likes LB more than DE, but will play wherever he is needed. He will choose between Pitt and Ohio State Saturday.

Gateway LB Hale Hale to commit to Pitt - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Quote:
Gateway linebacker Shayne Hale said Friday night that he plans to announce on national television today that he will make a verbal commitment to Pitt.
Asked at the U.S. Army awards banquet where he will attend college, Hale said, "Pitt."
"I went on official visits, and it all just came down to what is best for me. At one time, it was Ohio State. Another time it was Pitt. Once I narrowed it down, it's Pitt."
Hale said part of the reason he chose Pitt over Ohio State is that the Panthers wanted him to play primarily linebacker and Ohio State was recruiting him as a defensive end/linebacker. He said he hadn't called Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt before the banquet, but he planned to do so last night.
