Had 15 total touchdowns – receiving, rushing and returns. Also played free safety, registering 62 tackles and three interceptions. Runs 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. Brown has now set up a visit with Ole Miss on the 18th with many in-state players. Brown is going to decide between LSU and OM but has not yet scheduled a visit with LSU.

Ole Miss ranked #3 in the biggest jump in wins behind Notre Dame and Pitt. It also says that DeAndre Brown, Alonzo Lawrence and Darius "Tig" Barksdale are expected to sign with Ole Miss.

3. Ole Miss
Houston Nutt takes over a pretty ripe situation in Oxford. Texas transfer Jevan Snead, who wowed the Rebels staff with his arm and athleticism while running the scout team, finally becomes eligible. As does UCLA transfer Jeremy McGee, who should provide a needed big-play threat out of the backfield to complement bruising RB Cordera Eason, a 230-pounder expected to take over for BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Snead will have plenty of speedy targets and might also add TB Tig Barksdale, 6-foot-6, 215-pound WR DeAndre Brown and burner Alonzo Lawrence, the state's top three prospects who are expected to end up in Oxford. The Rebels' underachieving O-line, however, needs lots of help. On defense, DT Peria Jerry and DE Greg Hardy have first-round talent and the secondary should improve with more experience. Having LB Jonathan Cornell return to form after being lost to a stinger in the second game of the season should really help at a position where Ole Miss is extremely shaky. Getting former all-world DT recruit Jerrell Powe finally on the field would also make a big impact. The schedule also sets up nicely since the toughest of the first four games -- and the lone road trip -- is to Wake Forest.

By S Robertson. Brown visited Mississippi State last weekend, and will visit LSU this weekend. Mis mother also adds that the rumors of her son being down to Southern Miss and LSU are not true.

As of Thursday night, two years of intensified recruiting appeared to be going for naught as highly ranked Ocean Springs, Miss., as wide receiver DeAndre Brown was close to canceling his visit to LSU set to begin today and possibly commit to Southern Mississippi.
Brown is the No. 4 receiver prospect in the nation, according to Rivals.com, and has coveted size at 6-foot-6 and 208 pounds. He has been considered a strong lean to LSU for several weeks.
"It could upset a lot of people if LSU doesn't get DeAndre," Michael Scarborough of Rivals said Thursday. "LSU has been on him a long time."
Brown is not yet academically qualified, however, and could play immediately as a partial qualifier at USM because Conference-USA's policies are not as stringent as those of the Southeastern Conference. USM is also closer to home and has a new offensive-minded head coach in Larry Fedora, a former Florida and Oklahoma State offensive coordinator.
Brown has gone under in recent days.
"He's disappeared," Scarborough said. "No one can get in touch with him."
